Fabric surprises in the mail :) I've heard that there are Fat Quarter swaps online, especially on Facebook, so that may be an option for trading away any pieces that don't grab you, as there's bound to be a few mixed in with the gems. I think quilting/sewing groups generally host them.<br /><br />Also, larger designs like the roses are sometimes more manageable when you cut close to the motifs and frame them with something plainer, or for appliques. A few roses on a black tote bag, for instance, might look more modern?
