First Christmas card.

This is what I've been working on my train journeys to and from work. It's going to be my first Christmas card of the year once I find some good card.

It is a design by Gail Bussi from issue 244 of Cross Stitcher. Though the pattern only calls for DMC349 I used DMC702 as well because I thought the red looked a bit dull on the opalescent fabric I used.

I'm looking forward to a new week of work, though not the travelling.

Happy stitching!

  2. What a cute design! Simple, but very effective - I think your decision to use red and green was the right one, one colour wouldn't have done it justice!

  6. Lovely finish :) Talk about coincidences. I just finished stitching this one myself, for an ornament, a few nights ago! I veered away from the charted colours too, but in a different direction. I hope to have some pics up this weekend. I LOVE your colour choices, the red alternating with the green, and the fabric you picked is absolutely perfect :)
