Girl's Apron

A friend asked me to make her little girl an apron for Christmas. This is my first apron, but I'm very happy with it! What do you think? 

Christmas Cushion

One of Michael's brothers asked me to make his girlfriend a cushion for Christmas. She picked out the fabrics and I sewed it up for them. 

Do you recognise the antler/leaf fabric? It's from the September Bolt End Club.

Christmas Robin

Sometimes I get an idea stuck in my head and I have to make it. That's what happened with this robin, I had been messing around with little appliquéd birds and then I thought I could make a big version. He is machine appliquéd and quilted, measuring about 16.5"x16". Here's a close up of the quilting:

I think the photos don't quite do him justice, he looks much nicer in real life.

Nancy at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is holding a wonderful giveaway every day throughout the days leading up to Christmas. On the first day, I was lucky enough to win a beautiful chart. I had a choice of four, and I picked this one:

I don't know when I'll have a chance to stitch it, but it does look lovely. It also looks like it could be up all year round and not just at Christmas.

We've had our first bit of snow a couple of days ago, and today it's snowing quite earnestly. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, I'm not sure) it's not sticking, but it still looks nice coming down. This is the view from our windows.

Christmas decorations in Roermond

I haven't really got any crafty stuff to show you again, so here's some photos of the Christmas/Sinterklaas decorations in our town of Roermond, the Netherlands.

You could say, they're living in the present. Hoho.

Christmas Cards

Here's my first couple of Christmas cards done. The patterns are the Christmas stars I posted before.

I always have problems making cards, because I don't want to leave so much blank space, but I'm scared of cluttering the card up.

So I kept it very simple, and I'm quite happy with it. I just wish I had some silver stickers instead of gold ones, but beggars can't be choosers and all that.

Christmas Koffing

My boyfriend had the idea of making round Pokémon into Christmas baubles, so here we are with a Koffing in a Christmas hat.

Another idea that may or may not come into fruition is a Koffing with a Christmas pudding topping.

October IHSW

Last weekend was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend, and after months I finally participated again.

This weekend I worked on my dragon. The only before picture I have is in my TUSAL post.

He's almost done now. I just need to figure out what (if any) DMC thread to use instead of Kreinik #4 Purple Mambo. Any ideas?

I also stitched up one of my Christmas stars.

The photo doesn't really show how nice the purple and the silver look together, but I'm very pleased with it!

A Christmas Moose

I think it's supposed to be a reindeer, but it definitely looks like a moose to me. This is a little Christmas ornament kit I bought a couple of years ago, and finally got round to stitching up. It's by Rico Design. The frame was included in the kit. Framing was quite difficult as the linen it came with felt super stretchy, and I couldn't quite get it straight, but I like my Christmas moose anyway.

This will probably be the only Christmas ornament I'll stitch up this year! I like the idea of Christmas stitching, but I never finish it in time - there's so much other stuff that needs finishing first.
