Oriental Fan pin cushion

I really enjoyed stitching this little fan, it only took me a couple of days. The design is from a little book that came with The World of Cross Stitching, Joan Elliot's Oriental Collection.

It's stitched on what was supposed to be 28ct Jobelan, but it's actually 32ct.

The pattern called for Anchor Reflecta, but I did not have any, and Anchor threads are pretty hard to come by here, so I used some Madeira metallic thread instead. I have to say, the Madeira metallics are the easiest to use, from what I've worked with.

I backed it with the lovely fabric I got from Bekca.

I've put this up on Etsy, because I can't keep all the little things I keep stitching!

On the left of my blog you can see some widgets. At the top you can pop your e-mail address in the box, and you will automatically be sent an e-mail when my blog is updated. You can also see my Facebook and Twitter accounts for my blog, you can follow me through these services too.

I've finished Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan (well, still need to do hitmonchan's gloves), but I've run out of the background colour. I hope to have this finished by the end of the week.

And I made another little pincushion.

It's backed with the fabric behind it.

Another Pincushion

I've been meaning to post this for ages, but there were computer problems, as well as five people trying to use one computer all at once, so it never happened.

Last time I was at the craft group one of the ladies there saw the little scissor fob/pincushion I made myself and asked me to make her a pincushion.

She's always telling me about her neighbours' cat and how it's always coming round to her house while everybody's out during the day so I thought I'd stitch a pincushion with a cat.

Easter pincushion

It's Easter (happy Easter!), so I can post the little pincushion I made. I made it for my mum, so I hope she received it!

I'm really chuffed with how it came out, even though I managed to make two mistakes I didn't notice until it was all stitched together.

I backstitched round both sides and then whipstitched through the backstitch.

Hope you all got lots of nummy chocolate!

Pillows for little mice...

...as my boyfriend calls them. That's what I've been working on these past few days.

I don't have a sewing machine, so everything's by hand, and it's pretty atrocious.
