Last TUSAL!

It's the last TUSAL of the year! Wow, I can't believe 2012 has gone by so quickly!

I started the year at a crappy job in a call centre, was unemployed for a couple of months, started another crappy job with a distribution company, and left after a couple of months. Now I'm trying again to create my own business making handicrafts, and so far it's been going OK. Let's hope that 2013 will bring me (and all of you!) greater luck!

November TUSAL

Here's November's TUSAL. Added to it this month were threads from the Dark Chao and my little dragon. You can see the progress on the dragon in the background.

TUSAL

I don't know which TUSAL we're up to now, I know I've missed a few.

I had to move my orts from my little pot to a bigger jar. My pot was so full that when I put the lid on it with my scissors inside it as well, the next time I came to it there was a little hole in the side where the scissors had poked through due to pressure! At least it speaks volumes for the secureness of the lid, I would have thought it would pop off before that happened!

TUSAL 6 & Eevee

First of all the TUSAL for this month.

My boyfriend decided to play with the threads in the pot (it is kind of fun, it's become like a little thread pie), so you can't really see what I've been doing this month. Some black and brown on top there from Eevee below. I'm going to need to move the threads somewhere else soon, the pot's getting a bit full!

I wanted to try something a little bit different, so here's Eevee:

Eevee was supposed to be a practice piece, but my boyfriend liked it, and so it's going to go to another of his brothers for his birthday.

TUSAL 5

Lots of pastel colours in here this month as I'm working on a little Kirby project.

I would also like to mention my Twitter account and Facebook page, which you can see on the left hand side of my blog, so if you'd like to follow me, please do. If you have a Twitter or Facebook page for your blog, I would like to follow you, so please let me know in the comments.

TUSAL 4, another tapestry finish, and some WIPs.

It's TUSAL time again. This time full of wool from the tapestry.

I have been working on some cross stitching:

This Boo pattern I made myself. The white stitches are done with glow in the dark thread. Once it's finished I'll show off the full effect.

This is a pattern is from Wee Stitchy, and is available from her Etsy shop. This is actually being stitched on a green fabric, some how it came out blue though.

I quit my job last week, as I want to concentrate more on my crafts, hopefully I will be able to find a job with less hours soon. So please go along to my Etsy shop and tell me what you think.

TUSAL 3

Yep, here is the March instalment of TUSAL. I think I'm a bit late.

What's been added to the pot? Thread from the Japanese doll, a glow-in-the-dark project, the Cath Kidston purse, and probably a few other bits and bobs.

A new craft shop opened up in the town last week and I went for a visit on Saturday. It's called Tante Til (Auntie Til). As the owner has only just got the shop (and website) up and running there wasn't terribly much available, but I did get some lovely baby pink 14 count plastic canvas. I find high count plastic canvas quite hard to come by here anyway, so I had to snatch up some baby pink, as I've never seen that before. I think I'll have to go back every now and then to see if there's anything else interesting.

And, also exciting, I've got 50 followers now! I am very excited. I had been thinking on organising a small giveaway when I hit 50 followers, but it's just kind of krept up on me. I'll still hold one though, it'll be in a little while though, as I'll have to find a suitable prize. Watch this spot!

TUSAL 2

This is how I usually carry around my orts. I often take my stitching with me, so I have a little plastic pot in which I keep my ends and a pair of scissors.

This is the small finish I mentioned in my previous post. I would like to use it for a box lid, but I've been unable to find a decent box. I may turn it into a pin cushion.

It is is stitched on R&R Reproductions 30ct Iced Cappuccino linen with Nina's Threads Old Berry.

TUSAL 1

Just a quickie to show my first TUSAL jar.

Here we have a lot of Old Berry from It's Berry Time and a little bit of gold from Klimt's Tree of Life.

I want to do a post about my sewing machine soon, but first I need to figure out how to use it!
