I spent most of Thursday stitching up the Spring Garden bookmark after I posted my blogpost about it. I'm quite pleased with the outcome, and I think I'm going to do another one in bolder colours as well as I think the lighter purple-y/blue thread disappears into the fabric.
If you don't know about the Spring Garden SAL, go and check out Aurelia's post about it
here.
Very pretty! I quite like the purple colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSuch beautiful stitching, I can see why you would want to stitch another one :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes.
Thanks! I'm still trying to decide which colours I should use next.
DeleteEmma, this is GORGEOUS!!! I'm so sorry I missed this, will post about it on ES ASAP :) Also, you could use your other version as the back to make it reversible if you like, just an idea ;) I understand what you're saying about the lighter hue, but I really do think that this is SO very lovely all the same :) Amazing stitching!!!
ReplyDelete^_^ Thanks. I hadn't thought about making a reversible bookmark. In natural light the blue doesn't look too washed out, but in artificial light it blends in the fabric.
DeleteI love the colours you chose. I'm running into the same problem with mine... the light shade of pink I used might be a bit too light.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's always hard to tell how well the colours will stand out from the fabric until it's stitched up.
